Post Draft Grades for Each Day Two Pick

Post Draft Grades for Each Day Two Pick
Nick Gaschler

After the trade-heavy 2nd and 3rd Rounds of the Draft, I grade each pick and analyze how they will do in the NFL with that team.

33. Cleveland Browns-Austin Corbett-OT-Nevada

It was a big reach in my opinion and should have them selecting a tackle next year. Grade: C

34. New York Giants-Will Hernandez-OG-UTEP

One of my favorite picks here. Hernandez is a great talent and will be a good player. Grade: A

35. Cleveland Browns-Nick Chubb-RB-Georgia

Not my favorite RB, but he could be like Jim Brown in Cleveland and that’s what I like about it. Grade: B

36. Indianapolis Colts-Darius Leonard-LB-South Carolina State

More of a 3rd Round prospect in my mind, but still a pick that will make an impact. Grade: B-

37. Indianapolis Colts-Braden Smith-OG-Auburn

The idea of having two high caliber guards on one offensive line is insane. Great pick. Grade: A

38. Tampa Bay Buccaneers-Ronald Jones II-RB-USC

A good RB selected with a value pick. This will make Tampa better even if it isn’t Guice. Grade: A-

39. Chicago Bears-James Daniels-C-Iowa

Decent player made with a decent pick. Seals up concerns in the offensive line group for Chicago. Grade: A

40. Denver Broncos-Courtland Sutton-WR-SMU

Not my first pick, but definitely makes the offense better with a solid trio of WR’s. Grade: B+

41. Tennessee Titans-Harold Landry-Edge-Boston College

A big “meh” pick for me. Harold isn’t my favorite and trade shouldn’t be needed. Grade: B-

42. Miami Dolphins-Mike Gesicki-TE-Penn State

Dolphins needed a TE, but if Mike Gesicki the right choice. Not in my mind, he isn’t. Grade: B-

43. Detroit Lions-Kerryon Johnson-RB-Auburn

Hoped this pick was Guice. It wasn’t. Nonetheless, I really like Kerryon’s potential in Motown. Grade: A-

44. San Francisco 49ers-Dante Pettis-WR-Washington

A trade up? For Pettis? I’m not too high in this move, but he has special teams ability which is positive. Grade: B-

45. Green Bay Packers-Josh Jackson-CB-Iowa

I really like this pick, but at the same time is puzzled me. Jackson will be good, but now the Packers have a lot of young corners. Grade: B

46. Kansas City Chiefs-Breeland Speaks-DE-Ole Miss

Meh. Moving up to get Speaks was awkward. He’s a 3rd-4th Round prospect, but good potential. Grade: C+

47. Arizona Cardinals-Christian Kirk-WR-Texas A&M

A first round player in my mind. This was a steal and makes the Rosen pick maybe a higher C+. This gets an A though. Grade: A

48. LA Chargers-Uchenna Nwosu-OLB/Edge-USC

Chargers are nailing the draft so far. A Really good versatile player comes from here. Grade: B+

49. Philadelphia Eagles-Dallas Goedert-TE-SDSU

A nasty pick for the Eagles. Goedert is a stud and they keep him out of Dallas’ hands. Grade: B+

50. Dallas Cowboys-Connor Williams-OT-Texas

Tremendous value for the pick. Cool to see Williams play in Dallas and will make their team better. Grade: A+

51. Chicago Bears-Anthony Miller-WR-Memphis

One of the better picks of the night. Miller will make an impact in Chicago. Good, good pick. Grade: A

52. Indianapolis Colts-Kemoko Turay-DE-Rutgers

Bad pick. This kid has 4th-5th Round skills and was a huge reach here. Another ba pick in the 2nd. Grade: C

53. Tampa Bay Buccaneers-MJ Stewart-CB-UNC

A good, but not great DB pick to replace Brent Grimes. Tampa is trying to rebuild, but Isaiah Oliver is much better. Grade: B-

54. Cincinnati Bengals-Jessie Battes-S-Wake Forest

I’m a fan of Battes and this pick. Makes Cincy’s defense a lot better here and could end up making it elite. Grade: A

55. Carolina Panthers-Donte Jackson-CB-LSU

A decent corner to use and make the football team better to eventually replace Bradberry. Grade: B-

56. New England Patriots-Duke Dawson-CB-Florida

A really flashy cover corner here that will make the Patriots defense better this year. Grade: A-

57. Oakland Raider-PJ Hall-DT-Sam Houston State

Who? Jon Gruden really sucks at this doesn’t he. By far one of the biggest reaches I’ve seen. Grade: D

58. Atlanta Falcons-Isaiah Oliver-CB-Colorado

Isaiah was a first rounder to me, but seeing him here with Atlanta makes him a steal, something Atlanta has had a lot of this year. Grade: A

59. Washington Redskins-Derrius Guice-RB-LSU

Weird night for Guice. He for sure lost some money, but either way hope he proves doubters wrong. Grade: B

60. Pittsburgh Steelers-James Washington-WR-Oklahoma State

Good choice. Getting a slot guy like him makes the Steelers a threat at WR with 2 young guys and 1 elite guy. Grade: A

61. Jacksonville Jaguars-DJ Chark-WR-LSU

Jags get an impactful player in Chark that can make plays in the Allens absence. Grade: B

62. Minnesota Vikings-Brian O’Neill-OT-Pittsburgh

Someone to protect Kirk. I like O’Neill and I think he’s a good value pick here at 62. Grade: B

63. Tampa Bay Buccaneers-Carlton Davis-CB-Auburn

Another CB? Either way, they get a good one that’s gonna develop well and probably be a star. Grade: B

64. Indianapolis Colts-Tyquan Lewis-DE-Ohio State

Make it 3 out of 4 picks wasted. Lewis is a big reach here with Hubbard still around among others. Grade: C

65. Oakland Raiders-Brandon Parker-OT-NC A&T

Raiders waste another pick although I feel like this is the best value they have gotten so far. Grade: C

66. New York Giants-Lorenzo Carter-Edge-Georgia

A really nice draft steal here. Carter was getting hype as a 1st Rounder and to get him in the 3rd was genius. Grade: A

67. Cleveland Browns-Chad Thomas-DE-Miami(Fla.)

Weird, but not bad pick to make here. He can be Ogbah’s sub and eventually grow as a starter. Grade: B-

68. Houston Texans-Justin Reid-S-Stanford

I’m a fan of this pick. Reid is a great football player and I think the Texans really needed this pick. Grade: A-

69. New York Giants-BJ Hill-DT-NC State

The Giants are trying to rebuild their line and this is a good start getting one of the NC State pass rushers. Grade: B

70. San Francisco 49ers-Fred Warner-LB-BYU

This is a really meh pick because I don’t think Warner was a 3rd Round player, but he could be a decent sub for Foster. Grade: C+

71. Denver Broncos-Royce Freeman-RB-Oregon

Royce Freeman is a great pick here. He can develop in the committee backfield and help the backfield. Grade: B

72. New York Jets-Nathan Shepard-DT-Ft. Hayes State

The Jets make a good pick pairing Shepard with Leonard Williams to make a superpower D-Line like they had a couple years ago. Grade: A-

73. Miami Dolphins-Jerome Baker-LB-Ohio State

The Dolphins select a decent LB that is going to make an impact as a sub where he can develop. Grade: B

74. Washington Redskins-Geron Christian-OT-Louisville

Oof. Bad pick here. I don’t even think Geron should have gone in the 6th, but the Redskins select him here. Grade: D

75. Kansas City Chiefs-Derrick Nnadi-DT-Florida State

This is a pretty good pick. I think Nnadi is one of the best run defenders in the Draft and will certainly make an impact on the next level. Grade: B+

76. Pittsburgh Steelers-Mason Rudolph-QB-Oklahoma State

I’m a fan of this pick. He can develop and be ready to take the throne soon from Big Ben. Grade: A-

77. Cincinnati Bengals-Sam Hubbard-DE-Ohio State

Adding a big-time defensive player like Hubbard was a great idea for the Bengals and should help make their defense scary. Grade: A

78. Cincinnati Bengals-Malik Jefferson-LB-Texas

Malik Jefferson was a decent pick as he can develop and turn into a star in the near future. Grade: B+

79. Seattle Seahawks-Rasheem Green-DL-USC

A pick that will make the difference in the future for Seattle, but not now. Mediocre pick at best. Grade: C+

80. Houston Texans-Martinas Rankin-OT-MSST

I’m a big fan of this pick. Rankin is good and has the opportunity to be great. Grade: A

81. Dallas Cowboys-Michael Gallup-WR-Colorado State

Michael Gallup is a decent pick for the Cowboys and can be the next Dez Bryant. Good pick. Grade: B+

82. Detroit Lions-Tracy Walker-S-Louisiana Lafayette

Who? Another random pick. While it’s a good pick in terms of needs, but DeShon Elliott was still there. Grade: C-

83. Baltimore Ravens-Orlando Brown-OT-Oklahoma

Like father like son. Orlando suits up in purple and gold for the Ravens like big ‘Zeus and the Ravens cashed in. Grade: A+

84. Los Angeles Chargers-Justin Jones-DT-NC State

Justin Jones is a good football player and can be very sound for LA. I like this pick a lot. Grade: B+

85. Carolina Panthers-Rashaan Gaulden-DB-Tennessee

I don’t think he’s a third-round pick, but the Panthers could really use some DB’s. I just think there could have been a better pick here. Grade: C-

86. Baltimore Ravens-Mark Andrews-TE-Oklahoma

Mark Andrews is a weird pick after Hayden hurst in the first round, but adding these two should be good. Grade: C+

87. Oakland Raider-Arden Key-Edge-LSU

The Raider waste yet another pick on a lazy rusher that will be out of the league by 2020. Grade: C-

88. Green Bay Packers-Oren Burks-LB-Vanderbilt

I like Oren Burks for the Packers and I think he could be a really good player in 2018 and beyond. Grade: B+

89. Los Angeles Rams-Joseph Noteboom-OT-TCU

Noteboom is by no means a good pick for the Rams especially with decent OT’s still available. Grade: C

90. Atlanta Falcons-Deadrin Senat-DT-USF

Not my favorite pick, but still an impactful one made by the Falcons. He can develop and be a starter. Grade: B-

91. New Orleans Saints-Tre’Quan Smith-WR-UCF

An OK pick for the Saints, not the best though. Smith should be a good sub for NOLA. Grade: B-

92. Pittsburgh Steelers-Chukwuma Okorafor-OT-Western Michigan

Well, Chukwuma’s tape isn’t impressive, but he could turn out to be a very good starter. Grade: C+

93. Jacksonville Jaguars-Ronnie Harrison-S-Alabama

The Jaguars got a steal in the 3rd with Harrison. He could be a very good starter in the future. Grade: A

94. Tampa Bay Buccaneers-Alex Cappa-OT-Humboldt State

Cappa is a big-time player and I think he could be a really good player in Tampa. Grade: B+

95. San Francisco 49ers-Tavarius Moore-S-Southern Miss

I don’t know much about the player, but he could end up being an impact pick. Elliott is still there though. Grade: C

96. Buffalo Bills-Harrison Phillips-DT-Stanford

This is the perfect guy for the Buffalo Bills. Phillips is like Kyle Williams and will be the next KW. Grade: A-

97. Arizona Cardinals-Mason Cole-C-Michigan

Mason Cole is a decent pick here and the Cardinals need an O-Lineman. I like this pick. Grade: B+

98. Houston Texans-Jordan Atkins-TE-UCF

An OK pick here and I think it could be really impactful for the Texans who could use a guy like this. Grade: B-

99. Denver Broncos-Isaac Yiadom-CB-Boston College

Yiadom is a decent corner, but there are some better players on the board we could have picked up. Grade: C

100. Kansas City Chiefs-Dorian O’Daniel-LB-Clemson

Kansas City got a decent linebacker here at 100 and he could end up being a great player. Grade: B+
