Passing to the Torch: 6 College QB's Who Are About to be the Next Big Thing

Passing to the Torch: 6 College QB's Who Are About to be the Next Big Thing

Nick Gaschler

With the departure of great college quarterbacks in recent memory for the NFL, I take a look at 6 college quarterbacks that will dominate the college scenes for the next 1-3 years.

Jake Fromm-Georgia

Fromm and Bama’s Tua Tagovailoa will be dueling in the college scene for the foreseeable future and it could be either quarterback being great at one time. Fromm has a lot of great skill sets that can carry Georgia to the championship and eventually and NFL franchise. Fromm is a playmaker and just the thing the CFB needs.

Tua Tagovailoa-Alabama

The dynamic lefty is sure to be the next great mobile/passing QB in college football. A small sample of his skill set was shown in the 2018 National Championship and in 2018, there is certainly more that Tua will do in 2018. He’ll be a new offensive force in the SEC and should be a top pick in a couple years.

JT Daniels-USC

Here is another big time quarterback that a lot of people are sleeping. JT easily has the ability to win the starting job and make a run at the College Football Playoff as a big time player in the high school world. He’s in the ranks as one of the top QB’s in the 2018 class after he reclassified and he should lead USC for a long time in the future.

Trevor Lawrence-Clemson

Regarded as one of the strongest arms Clemson has ever seen, Lawrence is sure to be a star and if not this year, next year for sure. Lawrence has big play ability and could really make an impact for the Tigers this year as I predict he will in the future in Clemson and eventually for an NFL franchise.

Justin Herbert-Oregon

I tried to stay away from 2019 draft eligible QB’s, but Herbert has to be in here. Out of everyone in the 2019 class as a underclassmen, he has the most talent and potential and whether or not he stays for another year, he’s going to be a stud as he already has been. He should light up the world the year and make waves in the community.

Sam Ehlinger-Texas

If Texas is back as everyone is saying, it’s because of Ehlinger. The freshmen QB took Shane Buechele’s job last year and he hasn’t looked back. Ehlinger is a strong young talent and could really breakout this year as a top prospect in the CFB scene.
